One of the greatest minds in history, Einstein was quoted as saying that the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

So let’s take a look at America’s oil import numbers. They’re completely insane.

In April, the U.S. imported 284 million barrels of petroleum. That’s 3 million more than in March, 29 million more than in February, and roughly the same as January. That’s insane, right?

To make matters worse, while Washington argues over budgets and funding, America exported more than $30 billion of our hard-earned currency to pay for April’s imports. And March’s. February was a few billion less, and January was the same as April. That’s insane, right?

Take a look at the numbers and decide for yourself.
