Really new 18 wheelers with NA motors could eliminate 75% of our need for OPEC? What are we waiting for? I hope in the end it won’t come down to that idiotic fairy tale about the jews and that super natural nonsence that we need to stay engaged over there for that reason. Are we not more enlighteded?

The USA has used oil and food and every other natural and unnatural resource, (propaganda) that we have or can get to influence foreign policy now and in the past. Investigating the Crimean War of 1853-54 when the British Empire was near the end of the same policy of controlling the world by means of carrot and stick, we find the futility of trying to hold back the ocean with a teaspoon. It’s a fools gambit that not even a billionaire (like T. Boone Pickens) can make work.

ALL of what T Boone Pickens said, is viable, to me. And, MUST be done as an overall procedure of energy independence, water shed control and replenishment, as well as food production that is viable for all the world consumption. This would entail the max effort to keep the independence of people out of the hands of tyrants and fools. USA included.
ALL energy sources MUST be kept functional while alternative energy sources are developed to supplant the standard energy sources. AND, there must NOT be any higher costs for todays existing energy sources because the ONLY ones who would be hurt by higher prices would be the (not so) common people of the world, like me and my family. We have slipped into the upper lower income bracket from the lower middle income bracket. I retired from the US Army, Picker International, and University of Wyoming, plus Social Security. My wife retired from the Wyoming Technical Institute plus Social Security.
All that is another bone to pick. Leave our retirements alone and stop reducing the value of them!!!

Water shortage, minerals, and energy can be Gleaned from the Oceans (desalination) and pipe lined into the Interior of this great nation of OURS. Would reduce Our dependence on foreign nations as well as solve said foreign nations needs throughout the WORLD when they duplicate this type of togetherness.
Water may be the blessing in disguise we all are looking for to improve everybody’s lot in life.
Lets do this starting in the GULF areas so our countries food basket states can produce much of the food the WORLD needs. Then continue to build these Desalination plants along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts!

Anybody for world peace and cooperation???

Shades of the between years. Between WW l and WW ll there were war weary people who said , ‘What is going on in Europe, Africa, and the Orient was not our concern’. What happened, then??? WE can not afford to have the war come to US. WE must stop Putin’s aggression and the Radical Islamists Terrorism or WE will have them fighting over OUR bones right here in what is left of the USA!!!
I am too old to be a Warrior now, but, I will put up a Red Dawn style battle if it does come to that. I was Sniper Qualified but did not go to sniper training. Still can shoot quite well if OUR Nation needs in-country protection. DO NOT LET THEM BRING IT ON!!!! Stop them in their tracks over there.

Having all the 18 wheelers running on natural gas sounds like a very good idea. However, I think an even better idea is to have as many cars running an natural gas as possible. Sure…having to find a refueling station is a little difficult now. However, that can quickly change if we can get some people in Washington to push natural gas home filling stations.

I am currently working on a system which uses solar panels to produce electricity and charge it back to the grid. This is being funded through grants from our local power company ($40K). The resulting electric grid credit will be used to power a NG home refueling station. For $5K, I can convert 1 vehicle to natural gas. For another $5K I can install a home natural gas compressor filling station for the car/truck. All of this will pay for itself in 5 years.

From that point forward, I will be able to use home-use natural gas which is subsidized by the government to power my vehicles and the electricity needed to power the refueling station and my house will be free. Eventually, a wood boiler will be used to heat the house – so the only non-renewable resource I will be using is natural gas for the cars.

I would initiate the whole project right now…but with two kids in college – a temporary grant on the NG conversion and pump station by the government would definitely help. Does anyone know of any NG home refueling station grants that are available?

You are wrong on this. The Ukraine does matter to us. It also will show that the word of the US government can be trusted. America signed a treaty with the Ukraine promising military help

How about using coal as a benevolent foreign policy gesture? Of course only if
the recipient of the coal can use the coal without polluting the air.
