America is standing on the edge of another economic surge that we would be crazy not to embrace.

We have about a 100- to 200-year supply of natural gas. Producers should be allowed to sell their natural gas where they can, but as a nation we should be actively seeking ways to utilize it right here: As feedstock for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, for transportation, electricity generation, and industrial applications.

Let’s rebuild America’s economy on the back of our cheap, plentiful energy, not use it to protect Europe or Asia’s economy.

Next week, I’m participating in a panel discussion at the annual Milken Institute Global Conference, where I’ll be giving my take on how we should redraw the world energy map.

Read my latest post on LinkedIn for more of my thoughts on the need for a National Energy Plan.
