ATTN NEW YORK MEMBERS OF THE PICKENS PLAN ARMY!

I need your help. We’re making great progress, especially on a state-by-state basis. By eliminating barriers to using domestic natural gas, we are decreasing our dangerous dependence on foreign oil. Cleaner air, more jobs, cheaper fuel – this will make a huge difference.

Your home state of New York is a critical battleground. The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has proposed comprehensive regulations to allow the construction and operation of new liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities. It’s a big step in the right direction, yet there are some who say LNG storage tanks are unsafe.

Send an email to the DEC in support of these new LNG regulations.

Listen to what the DEC says:

“DEC’s proposed regulations require compliance with standards established by the National Fire Protection Association. This is the approach taken by many other states to ensure safe operation of these facilities. The regulations also set requirements for site inspections, training of local fire department personnel, closure of out-of-service LNG storage tanks, spill reporting, financial assurance and permit fees.”

Sure sounds like the DEC has done its homework, doesn’t it? Let’s get these regulations passed. Please email Russ Brauksieck at NYSDEC in support of the addition of Part 570 to 6 NYCRR.

Thanks to your support and the efforts of millions of other members of the Pickens Plan Army, we are getting America the energy plan it deserves.
