In a wide-ranging interview on CNBC, T. Boone Pickens said he expected natural gas to go back to $4/Mcf by the end of the year up from about $3/Mcf now. At that price, returning to coal as an energy production fuel becomes more attractive.

Boone repeated his clarion call for the Pickens Plan saying the highest and best use of natural gas is not as an energy fuel, but as a transportation fuel especially for heavy-duty trucks.
