The list of leading executives urging Washington to utilize America’s abundant natural gas reserves to rejuvenate the country’s economy continues to grow. This past week, ConcocoPhillips CEO James Mulva joined their number when he announced a new corporate initiative at the Detroit Economic Club called “Power in Cooperation.” The focus of the initiative is low-cost energy and high-paying jobs.

“We think that’s good for our country and we also think that’s good for our company,” said Mulva.

An increasing number of companies with substantial fleets of vehicles, such as AT&T and UPS, are already converting their trucks to run on CNG. Orders for tractor-trailers that run on LNG are also on the rise. Now companies such as ExxonMobil and Chesapeake Energy are finding ready partners in their efforts to emphasize natural gas as a cleaner-burning, low-cost domestic fuel.

To this end, ConcocoPhillips has unveiled the “Power in Cooperation” campaign, which includes the following website: PowerInCooperation.com.
