Highlights

  • Arizona State Leader Dave Clement was actively supporting candidates that support the Pickens Plan and natural gas legislation on Election Day. Through his Facebook page and his newsletter, he reminded voters to ask what their candidates’ energy plan is before they go to the polls.
  • California State Leader John Nobles was volunteering on behalf of the candidates supportive of the Pickens Plan and natural gas legislation. He was at the polls distributing literature and providing information on Election Day.
  • Lucy Malone will join the Pickens Plan as a District Leader in California. She is the Development Director for the U.S. Sustainable Business Council and will make a great addition to the Pickens Plan Army.
  • Florida army member Brian Sanders met newly elected Senator Marco Rubio in the closing days of the campaign, and asked him if he would support S 1408. Senator-elect Rubio emphasized his support for all domestic fuels to ensure energy independence.
  • Idaho District Leader Jeremy Boggess did a final round of campaigning for his State Senate race and was discussing energy independence and the Pickens Plan (he was running as an Independent and unfortunately did not win).
  • Maine army member Jenny Hanson contacted Senator Olympia Snowe’s Washington, DC office to secure her support for S 1408.
  • Regional Director Ed Matricardi followed up with VA Governor Bob McDonnell’s office to determine their interest in issuing the Executive Order regarding converting state government fleet vehicles to alternative energy sources – particularly natural gas. The Governor’s Chief Energy Advisor, Maureen Matsen, is collecting background information on the issue for the Governor and expects to brief him on the issue later this month.
  • Rodney Rooks, VA-07 District Leader, organized a candidate forum for Congressional candidates in VA-07 on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Luray Elementary School. Although Congressman Eric Cantor did not attend the forum, his challenger (Floyd Bayne) appeared at the forum where he stated his support for the Pickens Plan.
