Highlights

• District Leader Jim Pirko has secured a commitment for an interview on WKBN AM-570, Youngstown, a 50,000 watt station that reaches several districts.

• New York District Leader Bill Merrell reports that in the past year over 200 of his students have signed up for the Pickens Plan and that many of them are now District Leaders. (Bill is head of the Merrell Institute, a real estate and appraisal school.) Bill had plans to attend the last of the EPA hearings last Thursday, but it was canceled and will tentatively be held in September. Bill will try to attend on the rescheduled date.

• Montana State Leader Jerry McDonald is working with Sen. Baucus’ office with regard to energy legislation. Jerry has proposed that the Pickens Plan collaborates with him on the matter.

• State Leader Veronica Gold added 8 new members at a speaking engagement, and 4 new members have volunteered this week to step up in leadership roles.
