It is a product that is made from the constant stress of the mantle and the unlying earth’s core rotating at different rates. It will always be with us, but I have never seen a measure of the amount of gas production per unit of time.
I have been looking around the various universities and energy developers and what I see is that there are many really good ideas and people going back into the seventies and before working on alturnative energy sources. Everyday their are new developments in wind, solar, hydrogen, amonia, and natural gas discoveries, but there is a huge amount of money and people in oil.
We are moving along at the rates of profits for corporations and it seems to me that we need to move faster than this on this energy front and Mr. T. B. Pickens is giving us a vehicle to help us push down on the gas peddle.
In my studies the one clear thing I was made aware of is just how big this country is and the great numbers of people its going to take to push the efforts for home grown energy into the mainstream. There is a very large number of privite and public concerns pushing the other hydrogen – amonia and I bet you’ve never heard of them. This is the same for the other energies. We are learning just how hard it is to get something done in this country.
As Mr. Pickens has said we need to spend our energy dollars here in the U.S. Natural gas, wind, solar, hydrogen, amonia, and others can be effeciently intergrated into a national supply system. There is no need to fight against anyone of them. Right now we must support Mr. Pickens in his efforts to move our energy concerns along faster than the speed of corporate profits.

I support the plan for better energy but I see people asking to drill in other places? There are atoms that surround us that have more energy then we can imagine, support the science behind that, behind the wind, the sun but not fossil fuels.

Folks oil is a dirty fuel and a limited resource. If you’re here you should be awakened to that fact. So why even mention it as a solution?

This is about the future generations not our current present time.

The limited discussion saddens me.

We need a new math.

I don’t think it’s the leftist-pinko-environazis-that-hate-America that are preventing us from accessing “the great pie-in-the-sky, magic cure-all to our energy problems that won’t require ANY of us to make ANY changes whatsoever” (aka The Bakken).

1. Start adding to natural gas infrastructure using american workers and parts made in America
2. Pay for the infrastructure with a tax on gasoline
3. Incent americans to convert to natural gas powered vehicles with engine mods using parts made in America
4. Incent americans to add a natural gas fillup capability in their homes.
This creates jobs in this country resulting in taxpayers and contributors to social security.
Pat

How hard can it be to pass a bill to mandate Congress to pursue Natural Gas for all Truck

OPEC is a good example of free enterprise with a profit incentive. What insures Ethics. It is smart on their part to sell their oil after Peak Oil when the price will skyrocket. Pickens has been another example of free speech without ethics, in the anti Kerry material he is responsible for.

2. Using natural gas for autos is smarter than for big trucks because biodiesel is a more cost effective shift for all the diesel engines we have and should have. Natural gas is smarter for small cars like the Honda civic.

3. There is no excuse for mentioning efficiency and hydrogen cars in the same sentence.

4. Using natural gas will not help in making things greener and will reduce the price of oil for the other countries that will use it up even faster.

When we start using more natural gas, this end will even come sooner, it is a easy as that. The only real long term solution for the global energy issue is to make hydrogen out concentraded solar power in a know hight temperature process which splits water into hydrogen and also oxygene, which is a commodity as well. Then you or better we all, have to use the hydrogen as what it originally, already in the 70th, was intended to be: A real renewable energy carrierer, made directly only out of the sun and water. The hydrogen can be used for transportation, heating, cooling and cooking. No oil or even electricity needed at all. Should you need electricity, this can easily be done with decentralized fuel cells systems in different sizes, allowing you to use DC (direct current) directely for all your/our appliances. No more pollution, no more losses. No more monopolies. More in a new book: The Hydrogen Society…more than just a Vision? and at: http://www.hydrogenambassadors.com
I am ready to answer all questions on this topic from here in Germany: arno@hydrogenambassadors.com

for decades, that has been the bottleneck to reducing our nation’s oil dependency.
We all have to stay on top of Congress by writing our Senators and Representatives, pressing them to do the “right thing” , not just for our nation, but for the planet.
Now that corporations can contribute big money to political campaigns, I’m greatly concerned that “We the People” will have to work harder than ever to keep Congress in line. We need to keep reminding them of the “right thing” to do.

Natural gas is one way, but we need to actually start it without wanting so much for ourselves.

The electric Aptera should be on the road by now. It gets 300 mpg with an on board gas generator. This is the method the American trains use. Deisel powered engines turn huge generators that power electric motors which supplies the power to the wheels. This is the most efficient way to power a car with electric motors.

To produce electricity from water is working. An inventor in Japan has one. Will go 50 miles in one hour on one liter of water. We need to fund manufacturers to build these cars and stop pussy footing around looking for “what’s in it for me”. Stan (what I’m saying, that’s what it is)
