Army Highlights

  • Pickens Plan army member Debra O’Neil presented the Pickens Plan PowerPoint presentation to the Broussard, LA Chamber of Commerce weekly luncheon. She updated them on the Nat Gas Act and asked they write letters to the Louisiana Congressional Delegation urging their support.
  • ArizonaEnergy.org published an article about Boone and the Pickens Army. State Leader Dave Clement has been submitting letters to the editor and comments to the editorial staff suggesting they should do a write up on Boone and the NAT GAS Act.
  • New York District Leader Ed Gray is Director of School Facilities at Rockland BOCES. They hosted 300 local school district students (Elementary and HS) for Earth Day, Thursday April 22. The highlight of the event was their 40’ tall Wind Turbine which powers 20 school computers. Later that same evening, Ed presented a PowerPoint Presentation to the North Rockland (NY) Lions Club on “Green Energy”, and included the 2 minute video that was submitted last year to the Pickens Plan website (and was highlighted).  Both events supported the Pickens Plan.
  • Washington District Leader Tom Bougher is the Field Coordinator for the Veterans Conservation Corps (Washington Department of Veterans Affairs) in three coastal counties.  He has been placed on an Advisory Board for a statewide sustainable energy training organization. This incorporates a number of educational institutions, labor organizations, and industrial stakeholders in an effort to implement grants to “make it happen.” Tom is currently planning a regional energy summit with their partner groups, including Evergreen State College, and will represent the Pickens Plan at the event to raise awareness and recruit new members.
