Energy Secretary Steven Chu told oil and gas industry executives in Houston last week that the Obama administration recognizes the importance of domestic natural gas to America’s energy future. A Nobel prize winning physicist, Chu was invited to give the keynote speech at the annual CERA energy conference.

According to the Financial Times, the Energy Secretary noted that natural gas produces less emissions than other fossil fuels, and he said that “natural gas is a key enabler of renewable energy, by providing a power source when solar and wind are not available.”
