The state legislature in North Carolina is considering a bill which would, “provide a tax credit of 30% for infrastructure of biodiesel, E85, natural gas, propane and electric refueling infrastructure and a $2,000 tax credit for vehicles that operate on natural gas, propane and electricity” according to the website domesticfuel.com.

If North Carolina adopts this legislation, according to one supporter, it will “send a signal to fuel and technology providers as well as consumers that North Carolina thinks clean transportation technologies will benefit our economy and our environment.”

The United States House of Representatives is considering the NAT GAS Act (H.R. 1835) which would provide incentives for individuals and businesses to switch from vehicles which run on gasoline or diesel – which is largely imported – to clean, domestic natural gas.
