In the ad, T. Boone Pickens reminds us that just a few months ago – not a few years or decades, but this past December and January – Russia cut off natural gas supplies to Europe in the dead of winter over a price squabble with Ukraine.
Russia got what it wanted and turned the gas back on. But, according to one source, “When Russia locked up the Ukranian pipeline, citizens in 17 countries were left shivering.”
Think about the risks we are creating for ourselves by continuing to import nearly 70 percent of our oil from the Middle East, African nations like Angola and Nigeria and our most unfriendly neighbor to the south, Venezuela.
The 1.4 million members of the Pickens Plan New Energy Army are making a great impact on the U.S. House and Senate. We need to keep the pressure on!
